Privacy policy
Who is responsible
Responsibility for personal data on this site rests with the Lower Sioux Indian Community, 39375 County Highway 24, Morton MN 56270, US. Data-protection inbox: privacy@fairsharenederlandb.com.
What reaches us
- Connection details your browser hands over by itself: IP address, user agent (which software and gadget you use), plus requested and referring URLs.
- A rough location worked out from the IP address, no finer than a region or town.
- The contents of mail you send the editors: normally a name, a return address, and your words.
- The cookie decision you make, which lives in your browser's storage.
Purposes
- Necessary operation: serving pages and fending off misuse.
- Analytics, so we learn which guides readers find useful; this waits for your consent.
- Marketing and referral attribution, so partners can credit a reservation to us; this also waits for your consent.
- Replying when you write.
For GDPR purposes we rely on legitimate interest to operate and protect the site, on consent for the analytics and advertising categories, and on your own request when you contact us.
Who else sees it
Our web host and any analytics service act as processors for us. Following a hotel link can pass technical details, for example your IP address and a referral code, to affiliate networks, partner platforms and the hotel; each applies its own privacy terms. Contact details are never sold.
Some processing happens abroad, for instance on US servers; cross-border moves that legally need a safeguard get contract clauses approved for that job.
Retention periods
Server logs: no longer than 90 days. Aggregated analytics: no longer than 26 months. Mail: while your question is being handled, plus up to two further years. Cookie decision: up to a year in your browser.
Rights for readers covered by GDPR
Readers protected by GDPR hold rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Withdrawing consent is always possible, as is lodging a complaint with a national data regulator.
Rights for California readers (CCPA/CPRA)
Californians may learn what we keep about them, ask for fixes or deletion, and say no to any selling or ad-targeting sharing. A GPC browser flag counts as such a no from you. Nobody gets worse service on the guide for asking.
Children
The guide is written for readers 18 or older. We do not set out to gather information about children; tell us if you think a child has contacted us and the material will be erased.
Updates and requests
Requests of any kind go to privacy@fairsharenederlandb.com. Revisions show up as a fresh date near the heading.
